In a country where rural areas often struggle with inadequate medical infrastructure, ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare is a challenge. Growing up in Telangana, I witnessed firsthand the struggles of people in underserved regions, where even basic medical care required long-distance travel. This experience shaped my mission: to bridge the healthcare gap and bring world-class medical facilities closer to those who need them the most.
The Need for Rural Healthcare Development
Healthcare in rural India has long been plagued by several challenges:
- Limited medical infrastructure: Most advanced medical facilities are concentrated in urban areas.
- Lack of specialists: Rural hospitals often lack cardiologists, neurologists, and other critical specialists.
- High treatment costs: Many patients delay or avoid treatment due to financial constraints.
- Emergency care unavailability: Conditions like strokes and heart attacks require immediate intervention, which is often impossible due to travel time.
Recognizing these gaps, I took it upon myself to develop a network of hospitals, diagnostic centers, and blood banks that cater specifically to rural communities.
Building Healthcare Solutions for the People
1. Aditya Care Hospital – Bringing Specialty Care to Rural Telangana
In 2012, I founded Aditya Care Hospital in my native village to serve over 3 lakh people across Nalgonda District. This hospital was established with a simple vision: to ensure that no patient should have to travel to a metro city for life-saving treatment. Today, it provides specialized care, affordable treatments, and an empathetic approach to medicine.
2. RIVER Diagnostic Center – Reducing Dependence on Metro Cities
One of the biggest challenges in rural healthcare is the lack of diagnostic facilities. Before 2019, many patients had to travel to Hyderabad, Guntur, or Khammam for advanced tests. To address this, I established RIVER Diagnostic Center, which became the first in the district to provide:
- MRI & high-end CT scanning
- Mammography & TMT
- Hormonal testing & blood diagnostics This center has helped thousands of patients receive timely and accurate diagnoses, improving their treatment outcomes.
3. RIVER Blood Bank – Ensuring No Life is Lost Due to Shortages
During dengue outbreaks and critical surgeries, blood and platelet shortages often cost lives. In 2020, I launched RIVER Blood Bank to ensure continuous availability of life-saving blood components. Our initiative has significantly reduced referrals to distant hospitals and lowered treatment costs for poor patients.
4. RVR Gas Industry – The COVID-19 Oxygen Crisis and Our Response
The pandemic exposed a dire shortage of medical oxygen across the country. Seeing the devastating impact in Telangana, I established RVR Gas Industry in 2021 to create a self-reliant oxygen supply chain for hospitals. This initiative played a crucial role in saving lives during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis and continues to serve hospitals across the district.
5. RIVER Superspeciality Hospital – Critical Care Within Reach
In 2023, I founded RIVER Superspeciality Hospital in Miryalaguda with one core mission:
- No one should die due to lack of timely intervention for heart attacks or strokes.
- Patients should receive cardiac and neuro care within 30 minutes—not after traveling 100+ km to a major city.
This hospital is equipped with cath labs, neurology & neurosurgery departments, and emergency critical care units, ensuring rural patients get immediate treatment.
The Future of Rural Healthcare
Transforming rural healthcare requires long-term commitment and innovation. My focus remains on:
- Expanding preventive healthcare programs to reduce the burden of diseases.
- Integrating technology through AI-driven diagnostics and telemedicine.
- Empowering local healthcare workers to provide first-response care in villages.
